त॑ प्रयान्तं रणे वीरं सर्वसैन्येन भारतम् । संयत्ता: समरे सर्वे पालयध्वं पितामहम्,'सारी सेनाके साथ युद्धके लिये यात्रा करते हुए मेरे वीर पितामह भरतनन्दन भीष्मकी आप सब लोग प्रयत्नपूर्वक रक्षा करें"
taṁ prayāntaṁ raṇe vīraṁ sarvasainyena bhāratam | saṁyattāḥ samare sarve pālayadhvaṁ pitāmaham ||
समस्त सैन्यासह रणासाठी पुढे निघालेल्या त्या वीर भरतनंदन पितामह भीष्मांचे—तुम्ही सर्वजण युद्धसज्ज होऊन—प्रयत्नपूर्वक रक्षण करा.
