तमुग्रमुग्र्माणमुग्रां बुद्धि समास्थितम्‌ । ब्रह्मणो5पचितिं कुर्वन्‌ जघान पुरुषोत्तम:

tam ugram ugramāṇam ugrāṁ buddhiṁ samāsthitam | brahmaṇo 'pacitiṁ kurvan jaghāna puruṣottamaḥ ||

अत्यंत उग्र, उग्रकर्मात प्रवृत्त आणि क्रूर बुद्धीचा आश्रय घेतलेल्या (मधु) ला, ब्रह्मदेवाची अपचिती—आदरपूर्वक उपासना—करत असतानाच, पुरुषोत्तमाने ठार केले.
