Educational Q&A

The verse primarily uses epic simile to portray irresistible martial energy: brilliance (sun-like radiance) and force (arrow-rain) can dominate the battlefield. In a dharma-war context, such power is ethically significant—strength is not merely spectacle but a decisive instrument whose use carries responsibility and consequence.

Sañjaya describes a warrior arriving on a huge chariot with a deep, resounding wheel-noise, shining like the sun, and blanketing the field with a dense volley of arrows, compared to a rain-cloud pouring down.
