निवर्ततां च शब्दो5भूत् पूर्णस्येव महोदधे: । उनमेंसे कुछ लोग भागने लगे
nivartatāṁ ca śabdo 'bhūt pūrṇasyeva mahodadheḥ |
वैशंपायन म्हणाले—काही जण पळू लागले, काही पुन्हा धावून आले आणि काही युद्धातून निवृत्त होऊ लागले. ‘निवर्ता, निवर्ता’ असा शब्द उठला; त्यांचा कोलाहल जलाने भरलेल्या महासागराच्या गंभीर गर्जनेसारखा होत होता.
