Abhimanyu’s Śrāddha; Vyāsa’s Assurance of the Unborn Heir (अभिमन्योः श्राद्धं तथा गर्भरक्षणोपदेशः)

पितरं दु:खिततरो गोविन्दो वाक्यमत्रवीत्‌ । इस प्रकार पिताको अत्यन्त दु:खित होकर बहुत विलाप करते देख श्रीकृष्ण स्वयं भी बहुत दुःखी हो गये और उन्हें सान्त्वना देते हुए इस प्रकार बोले--

pitaraṁ duḥkhitataraḥ govindo vākyam abravīt |

वैशंपायन म्हणाले— वडिलांना अत्यंत दुःखी होऊन आक्रोश करताना पाहून गोविंद (श्रीकृष्ण) स्वतःही फार व्यथित झाले. त्यांना धीर देऊन मन स्थिर करण्यासाठी त्यांनी हे वचन उच्चारले.
