Disclosure and Consolation

अकरोत्‌ स ततः काल॑ शरतल्पगतो मुनि: । अयनं दक्षिण हित्वा सम्प्राप्ते चोत्तरायणे

akarot sa tataḥ kālaṁ śaratālpagato muniḥ | ayanaṁ dakṣiṇaṁ hitvā samprāpte cottarāyaṇe ||

वासुदेव म्हणाले—त्यानंतर शरशय्येवर पडलेल्या त्या मुनींनी आपल्या देहत्यागाचा काळ स्वतः ठरविला. सूर्याचा दक्षिणायन प्रवास असेपर्यंत त्यांनी प्राण सोडले नाहीत; तो काळ संपून उत्तरायण आले तेव्हाच त्यांनी मृत्यु स्वीकारला—व्रतनिष्ठा व काळावर संयम यांचे दर्शन घडवीत।
