एवं तव प्रपश्यामि श्रेयो भूगुकुलोद्वह | आगच्छतो हि ते विप्र भवेन्मृत्युर्न संशय:,भगुकुलभूषण विप्र! ऐसा करनेमें ही मैं आपकी भलाई देखता हूँ। यदि आयेंगे तो आपकी मृत्यु हो जायगी। इसमें संशय नहीं है
evaṁ tava prapaśyāmi śreyo bhṛgukulodvaha | āgacchato hi te vipra bhaven mṛtyur na saṁśayaḥ ||
हे भृगुकुलश्रेष्ठ! मला तुमचे श्रेय याच्यात दिसते. हे विप्र, तुम्ही येथे आलात तर तुमचा मृत्यू निश्चित होईल—यात संशय नाही.
सौदास उवाच
Practical dharma: true welfare (śreyaḥ) may require restraint and avoidance of foreseeable harm. The speaker frames ethical counsel as clear-sighted protection—warning that a chosen action will certainly lead to death.
Saudāsa addresses a brāhmaṇa of the Bhṛgu lineage, urging him not to come, stating that his coming will inevitably result in his death. The verse functions as a direct forewarning and an attempt to avert a fatal outcome.
