Shloka 49

धृतराष्ट्रस्य पाण्डवेषु प्रीति-वृत्तान्तः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Affectionate Disposition toward the Pāṇḍavas

नाहं राजा भवान्‌ राजा भवत:ः परवानहम्‌ । कथं गुरु त्वां धर्मज्ञमनुज्ञातुमिहोत्सहे,मैं राजा नहीं, आप ही राजा हैं। मैं तो आपकी आज्ञाके अधीन रहनेवाला सेवक हूँ। आप धर्मके ज्ञाता गुरु हैं। मैं आपको कैसे आज्ञा दे सकता हूँ

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |

nāhaṃ rājā bhavān rājā bhavataḥ paravān aham |

kathaṃ guruṃ tvāṃ dharmajñam anu-jñātum ihotsahe ||

युधिष्ठिर म्हणाला— मी राजा नाही; आपणच राजा आहात. मी तर आपल्या आज्ञाधीन आहे. धर्मज्ञ गुरुवर्य, येथे मी आपणास परवानगी देण्याचे धैर्य कसे करू?
