माद्रीपुत्रौ च धर्मज्ञौ चित्त तस्यान्ववर्तताम्
mādrīputrau ca dharmajñau cittaṃ tasyānvavartatām
माद्रीचे दोन्ही पुत्र—धर्मज्ञ—आपले चित्त त्याच्याशी एकरूप ठेवून, आचरण व हेतूमध्ये त्याच्याच मार्गाचे अनुसरण करीत.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Ethical maturity expresses itself as disciplined alignment of one’s mind and actions with dharma and with rightful leadership; Nakula and Sahadeva are portrayed as dharma-aware followers whose inner intention (citta) supports the chosen course rather than resisting it.
In the Ashramavāsika setting, the narrative notes that Mādrī’s two sons—Nakula and Sahadeva—act as dharma-knowing companions: they keep their minds in step with him (the leading figure in context) and follow his direction in resolve and behavior.
