Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa
Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results
रौद्रे लोहितमित्याहुलोहितात् कनकं स्मृतम् । तन्मैत्रमिति विज्ञेयं धूमाच्च वसव: स्मृता:
raudre lohitam ity āhur lohitāt kanakaṃ smṛtam | tan maitram iti vijñeyaṃ dhūmāc ca vasavaḥ smṛtāḥ ||
वसिष्ठ म्हणाले—रौद्र रूपात त्याला ‘लोहित’ म्हणतात; त्या लोहितापासून ‘कनक’ (सुवर्ण) उत्पन्न होते असे स्मृत आहे. ते कनक ‘मैत्र’—मित्रतत्त्वाशी संबंधित—समजावे; आणि धुरापासून वसूंची उत्पत्ती सांगितली आहे.
