Brahmā–Indra–Surabhi Itihāsa
सवत्सां पीवरीं दत्त्वा दृतिकण्ठामलंकृताम् | वैश्वदेवमसम्बाध॑ स्थान श्रेष्ठ प्रपद्यते
savatsāṁ pīvarīṁ dattvā dṛtikaṇṭhām alaṅkṛtām | vaiśvadevam asambādhaṁ sthānaṁ śreṣṭhaṁ prapadyate ||
जो पुष्ट-ताजी, वासरासह गाय गळ्याच्या आवरणाने/बंधाने युक्त करून अलंकृत अवस्थेत ब्राह्मणाला दान करतो, तो कोणत्याही अडथळ्याविना विश्वेदेवांच्या श्रेष्ठ लोकास प्राप्त होतो।
