Gopradāna-Māhātmya: Inquiry into Goloka
atha prāha yamaḥ kañcit puruṣaṃ kṛṣṇavāsasam | raktākṣam ūrdhvaromāṇaṃ kākajaṅghākṣināsikam ||
The verse frames Yama as the impartial enforcer of dharma: moral law is not merely abstract but administered through agents, and deeds inevitably bring corresponding consequences under a just cosmic order.
Bhīṣma narrates that Yama addresses a particular fearsome, black-clad figure—described with red eyes and crow-like features—indicating he is about to command or dispatch an attendant in the course of judging or executing the results of actions.
