Karma-Phala Rahasya and the Ethics of Dāna (कर्मफल-रहस्यं दानधर्मश्च)
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत अनुशासनपर्वके अन्तर्गत दानधर्मपर्वमें दैव और पुरुषार्थका निर्देशविषयक छठा अध्याय पूरा हुआ
cakṣur dadyān mano dadyād vācaṃ dadyāc ca sūnṛtām | anuvrajed upāsīta sa yajñaḥ pañca-dakṣiṇaḥ ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—अतिथी आला तर त्याच्याकडे प्रसन्न नजरेने पाहावे, सेवेत मन द्यावे, मधुर व सत्य वाणी द्यावी; तो निघताना थोडे अंतर त्याच्या मागे/सोबत जावे आणि तो राहील तोवर सत्कारात तत्पर राहावे. गृहस्थासाठी ही पाच कृत्ये पाच दक्षिणांनी युक्त यज्ञ आहेत.
