दानफलप्रकरणम् — उपानहदानं, तिलदानं, भूमिदानं, गोदानं, अन्नदानं च
Gifts and Their Stated Results: Footwear, Sesame, Land, Cows, and Food
अप्यल्पं प्रददुः सर्वे पृथिव्या इति नः श्रुतम् । भूमिमेव ददुः सर्वे भूमिं ते भुञज्जते जना:
apy alpaṁ pradaduḥ sarve pṛthivyā iti naḥ śrutam | bhūmim eva daduḥ sarve bhūmiṁ te bhuñjate janāḥ ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—आम्ही ऐकले आहे की ज्यांनी पृथ्वीचा अगदी थोडासा भागही दान केला, त्यांनाही भूमिदानाचे पूर्ण फळ मिळते. खरे तर जो भूमी दान करतो तो जणू संपूर्ण पृथ्वीच दान करतो; आणि परलोकात लोक त्याच भूमीचा भोग करतात।
