Daiva–Puruṣakāra Inquiry: Fate and Human Effort
अभ्युत्थानेन दैवस्य समारब्धेन कर्मणा । विधिना कर्मणा चैव स्वर्गमार्गमवाप्लुयात्,मनुष्य दैवके उत्थानसे आरम्भ किये हुए पुरुषार्थसे उत्तम विधि और शास्त्रोक्त सत्कर्मसे ही स्वर्गलोकका मार्ग पा सकता है
abhyutthānena daivasya samārabdhena karmaṇā | vidhinā karmaṇā caiva svargamārgam avāpnuyāt ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—उठून उभे राहण्याच्या दृढ निश्चयाने, दैवाच्या अनुकूलतेने आरंभिलेल्या पुरुषार्थाने, तसेच विधी व शास्त्रोक्त कर्मांनीच मनुष्य स्वर्गमार्ग प्राप्त करतो.
