इत्येतद् गोषु मे प्रोक्त माहात्म्यं भरतर्षभ । गुणैकदेशवचनं शक्यं पारायणं न तु
ity etad goṣu me proktaṃ māhātmyaṃ bharatarṣabha | guṇaikadeśavacanaṃ śakyaṃ pārāyaṇaṃ na tu ||
अशा प्रकारे, भरतश्रेष्ठा! मी तुला गायींचे माहात्म्य सांगितले. परंतु हे त्यांच्या गुणांचे केवळ अंशमात्र आहे; काही सांगणे शक्य आहे, पण सर्व गुणांचे संपूर्ण पारायण करणे शक्य नाही.
