तावपि स्वाविव सुतौ संस्कार्याविति निश्चय: । क्षेत्रजो वाप्यपसदो ये<वध्यूढास्तेषु चाप्युत

tāv api svāv iva sutau saṃskāryāv iti niścayaḥ | kṣetrajō vāpy apasado ye ’vadhyūḍhās teṣu cāpy uta ||

भीष्म म्हणाला— त्या दोन्ही प्रकारच्या पुत्रांचेही आपल्या पुत्राप्रमाणेच संस्कार करावेत— असा शास्त्राचा निश्चय आहे. तसेच क्षेत्रज, अपसद आणि अवध्यूढ— या सर्व प्रकारच्या पुत्रांनाही आपल्या समान संस्कार देण्याचीच आज्ञा आहे. वर्ण-संबंधी संस्कारांविषयी धर्मशास्त्रांचा हाच निर्णय दिसतो. हे सर्व मी तुला सांगितले; आता आणखी काय ऐकू इच्छितोस?
