अस्वामिकस्य स्वामित्वं यस्मिन् सम्प्रति लक्ष्यते । यो वर्ण: पोषयेत् तं च तद्धर्णस्तस्य जायते
asvāmakasya svāmitvaṃ yasmin samprati lakṣyate | yo varṇaḥ poṣayet taṃ ca tadvarṇas tasya jāyate ||
ज्याचा कोणी स्वामी/पालक नाही अशा अनाथाच्या बाबतीत, सध्या जो त्याचा स्वामी म्हणून दिसतो आणि जो त्याचे पालन-पोषण करतो—त्याचा जो वर्ण, तोच त्या बालकाचाही वर्ण मानला जातो.
