Ānṛśaṃsya–Bhakti: Śukaḥ Śakreṇa Parīkṣitaḥ
Compassion and Devotion—The Parrot Tested by Indra
तस्मिन् वक्षे तथाभूते कोटरेषु चिरोषित: । न जहाति शुको वासं तस्य भक्त्या वनस्पते:
tasmin vakṣe tathābhūte koṭareṣu ciroṣitaḥ | na jahāti śuko vāsaṃ tasya bhaktyā vanaspateḥ ||
तो वृक्ष अशा अवस्थेला गेल्यावरही, त्याच्या पोकळीत दीर्घकाळ राहणारा तोता आपला निवास सोडत नव्हता. त्या वनस्पतीबद्दलच्या भक्ती व अनुरागामुळे, वृक्ष सुकत असतानाही तो तिथेच राहिला.
