अपत्यजन्म शूद्रायां न प्रशंसन्ति साधव: । शूद्रायां जनयन् वि्र: प्रायश्चित्ती विधीयते
apatyajanma śūdrāyāṁ na praśaṁsanti sādhavaḥ | śūdrāyāṁ janayan vipraḥ prāyaścittī vidhīyate ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—शूद्रा स्त्रीच्या गर्भातून संतती उत्पन्न करणे सज्जन प्रशंसित मानत नाहीत. जो ब्राह्मण शूद्रेत संतती उत्पन्न करतो, त्याच्यासाठी प्रायश्चित्ताचे विधान आहे.
