तस्य भार्या रुचिनाम रूपेणासदृशी भुवि । पहलेकी बात है, देवशर्मा नामके एक महा-भाग्यशाली ऋषि थे। उनके रुचि नामवाली एक स्त्री थी जो इस पृथ्वीपर अद्वितीय सुन्दरी थी
tasya bhāryā rucinām rūpeṇāsadṛśī bhuvi |
भीष्म म्हणाले—त्याची पत्नी रुची नावाची होती; रूपाने ती पृथ्वीवर अद्वितीय होती. पूर्वी देवशर्मा नावाचे एक महाभाग्यशाली मुनी होते; त्यांच्या रुची नावाच्या पत्नीचे सौंदर्य या भूमीवर अनुपम होते.
