स्त्रीस्वभावप्रश्नः — Nārada and Pañcacūḍā on Strī-svabhāva
Anuśāsana-parva 38
न चान्यदिह कर्तव्यं किज्चिदूर्ध्व यथाविधि । गुप्तो गोपायते ब्रह्मा श्रेयो वस्तेन शोभनम्
bhīṣma uvāca | na cānyad iha kartavyaṃ kiñcid ūrdhvaṃ yathāvidhi | gupto gopāyate brahmā śreyo vastena śobhanam ||
भीष्म म्हणाले— येथे विधिपूर्वक जे विहित आहे त्यापलीकडे दुसरे काही करावयाचे नाही. ब्राह्मणाचे रक्षण केले असता तोही आपल्या रक्षकाचे रक्षण करतो; त्यातच खरे श्रेय व शुभ नांदते. म्हणून विधिनिष्ठ लोकांचे परम कल्याण स्वधर्मपालन आणि ब्राह्मणांचे रक्षण-सेवा यांतच आहे.
