Mataṅga–Śakra Dialogue on Tapas, Status, and Moral Qualities
prakṛṣṭer aśubhair grastān anekaiḥ puruṣādhamān | patato narake gadāṃ saṃśritān pretya tārayet ||
The verse teaches that taking refuge (śaraṇāgati) in a sanctified protector—here, the gadā—can bring deliverance even to those burdened by extreme and numerous sins, emphasizing the transformative power of sincere refuge over moral downfall.
A Siddha is describing the salvific efficacy attributed to the gadā: even men headed for hell due to grievous wrongdoing are said to be rescued after death if they have sought the mace’s protection.
