भविष्यथ विश क्षिप्रं द्रष्टासि पितरं क्षये । माताकी बात सुनकर मैं पिताके दर्शनसे निराश हो गया और मनको संयममें रखकर महादेवजीकी आराधना करके उनका दर्शन किया। उस समय वे मुझसे बोले--“वत्स! तुम्हारे पिता
bhaviṣyatha viśa kṣipraṃ draṣṭāsi pitaraṃ kṣaye |
गालव म्हणाला— “लवकर घरात प्रवेश कर; निराशेचा अंत झाल्यावर तुला पित्याचे दर्शन होईल.” हे ऐकून मी निराशा सोडली, मन संयमित करून महादेवांची आराधना केली आणि त्यांचे दर्शन घेतले. तेव्हा भगवान म्हणाले— “वत्सा! तुझा पिता, माता आणि तू— तिघेही मृत्युवर्जित व्हाल. आता विलंब न करता घरात जा; तेथे तुला पित्याचे दर्शन होईल.” भगवान शिवांची आज्ञा घेऊन मी घरी परतलो, यज्ञ केला आणि यज्ञशाळेतून बाहेर येणाऱ्या पित्याचे दर्शन घेतले— त्यांच्या हाती समिधा, कुश आणि झाडांवरून आपोआप पडलेली पिकलेली फळे इत्यादी हव्यद्रव्ये होती.
