यजनं बहुशश्चाग्नौ जगु: सामानि सामगा: । ततश्चन्दनकाष्ठैश्ष तथा कालीयकैरपि
yajanaṃ bahuśaścāgnau jaguḥ sāmāni sāmagāḥ | tataścandanakāṣṭhaiś ca tathā kālīyakair api ||
सामगान करणाऱ्या ब्राह्मणांनी अग्नीत वारंवार आहुती दिल्या आणि साममंत्रांचे गान केले. नंतर चंदनकाष्ठ तसेच कालीयक इत्यादी सुगंधी द्रव्येही अर्पण केली।
वैशम्पायन उवाच

Vaiśaṃpāyana describes a yajña scene where Sāmaveda chanters repeatedly make offerings into the fire while singing Sāman hymns, and then enhance the rite by using fragrant materials like sandalwood and kālīyaka.
