Shloka 5

यथा ह्ुपस्थितैश्वर्या: प्रजायन्ते न राजसा: । एवमेवात्मना5७त्मानं पूजयन्तीह धार्मिका:

yathā hy upasthitaiśvaryāḥ prajāyante na rājasāḥ | evam evātmanātmānaṃ pūjayantīha dhārmikāḥ ||

भीष्म म्हणाले—ज्यांचे ऐश्वर्य आधीच स्थिर झाले आहे, ते रजोगुणी धावपळीने पुनर्जन्माची इच्छा करत नाहीत; तसेच धार्मीक लोक येथे आत्म्यानेच आत्म्याचा सन्मान करतात. धर्मानुष्ठानाच्या शिस्तीने, आपल्या प्रयत्नाने, ते अंतःकरणाला उच्च पदापर्यंत उचलतात—रजाच्या प्राबल्यामुळे पुन्हा जन्म-मृत्यूच्या चक्रात पडू नये म्हणून.
