वृद्धानां भारतप्तानां स्त्रीणां चक्रधरस्य च । ब्राह्मणानां गवां राज्ञां पन्थानं ददते च ये
vṛddhānāṃ bhārataptānāṃ strīṇāṃ cakradharasya ca | brāhmaṇānāṃ gavāṃ rājñāṃ panthānaṃ dadate ca ye ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—जे लोक वृद्धांना, ओझ्याने त्रस्त झालेल्यांना, स्त्रियांना, चक्रधाऱ्यास (रथ/गाडी चालविणाऱ्यास), तसेच ब्राह्मणांना, गाईंना व राजाला मार्ग देतात, ते विनयशील साधु मानले जातात; लोकाचारही धर्मच आहे।
