यास्य घोरतमा मूर्तिर्जगत् संहरते तथा । ईश्वरत्वान्महत्त्वाच्च महेश्वर इति स्मृत:
yāsya ghoratamā mūrtir jagat saṃharate tathā | īśvaratvān mahattvācca maheśvara iti smṛtaḥ ||
वायू म्हणाला—त्यांची जी अत्यंत घोर मूर्ती आहे ती जगताचा संहार करते. आणि ईश्वरत्व व महत्त्व यांमुळे ते ‘महेश्वर’ या नावाने स्मरणात आहेत.
