Disciplined vow-observers cultivate inner concentration and choose pure, supportive environments—holy places rich in simple sustenance (fruits and roots)—so that their life remains aligned with restraint, purity, and dharmic practice.
Mahādeva describes the lifestyle of regulated ascetics: they live in sanctifying regions that provide minimal, natural food (fruits and roots) and foster mental collectedness, indicating an ideal setting for tapas and steady observance of vows.
