Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
रुद्रभवत्या तु कृष्णेन जगद् व्याप्तं महात्मना । त॑ं प्रसाद्य तदा देवं बदर्या किल भारत
rudrabhavatyā tu kṛṣṇena jagad vyāptaṃ mahātmanā | taṃ prasādya tadā devaṃ badaryā kila bhārata ||
भीष्म म्हणाले—रुद्रशक्तीने युक्त अशा महात्मा श्रीकृष्णाने हे संपूर्ण जग व्यापून टाकले आहे. हे भारत! असे म्हणतात की पूर्वकाळी बदरीमध्ये त्या देव महादेवास प्रसन्न करून, दिव्यदृष्टी महेश्वराकडून त्यांनी सर्व पदार्थांपेक्षा श्रेष्ठ असे ‘प्रियतरत्व’ प्राप्त केले; म्हणून ते सर्व लोकांत प्रियतम झाले.
