Brāhmaṇa-pūjā and Namaskāra: Criteria of Reverence and Non-Offense (ब्राह्मणपूजा-नमस्कारविधिः)
तरक्षोश्ष्म दंष्टाश्न तथैव गिरिकच्छप: । आज्यधूमो बिडालश्नच्छाग: कृष्णोडथ पिड्ूल:
tarakṣoṣma-daṃṣṭrāśna tathāiva girikacchapaḥ | ājya-dhūmo biḍālāśna-cchāgaḥ kṛṣṇo 'tha piṇḍūlaḥ ||
भीष्म म्हणाले— ज्या गृहस्थाच्या घरी अग्निहोत्राची पवित्र अग्नी दिवस-रात्र नित्य प्रज्वलित असते, जिथे लहान जातीच्या वाघाचे (तरक्ष/जरख) कातडे व त्याचे दात, तसेच डोंगरी कासव असते; जिथे तुपाच्या आहुत्यांमुळे सुगंधी धूर सतत उठत राहतो; आणि जिथे मांजर व काळा किंवा पिवळसर बोकड असतो— अशा सर्व वस्तू ज्या घरात असतात, त्या घरावर भयंकर मांसभक्षी निशाचर हल्ला करत नाहीत।
