श्रूयतां येन तुष्यामो मर्त्याना साधुकर्मणाम् । पितरोंने कहा--महाभाग देवताओ! आपने न्यायत:ः अपना संदेह उपस्थित किया है। उत्तम कर्म करनेवाले मनुष्योंके जिस कार्यसे हम संतुष्ट होते हैं, उसको सुनिये
śrūyatāṁ yena tuṣyāmo martyānāṁ sādhukarmaṇām |
पितर म्हणाले—हे महाभाग देवहो! तुम्ही न्याय्य रीतीने तुमचा संशय मांडला आहे. आता ऐका—सत्कर्म करणाऱ्या मर्त्यांच्या ज्या आचरणाने व ज्या कर्माने आम्ही पितर संतुष्ट होतो, ते आम्ही सांगतो.
