एवं वीर्यबलोल्सिक्ति भूरियत्नैर्महासुरै: । पीड्यमाना मही राजन्‌ ब्रह्माणमुपचक्रमे,राजन्‌! जब इस प्रकार बल और पराक्रमके मदसे उन्मत्त महादैत्य विशेष यत्नपूर्वक इस पृथ्वीको पीड़ा देने लगे, तब यह ब्रह्माजीकी शरणमें जानेको उद्यत हुई

Transliteration

evaṁ vīrya-balolliktaḥ bhūri-yatnaiḥ mahāsuraiḥ | pīḍyamānā mahī rājan brahmāṇam upacakrame ||

Translation

वैशंपायन म्हणाले—राजन्, अशा रीतीने बळ व पराक्रमाच्या मदाने उन्मत्त झालेले महासुर मोठ्या प्रयत्नाने पृथ्वीला पीडू लागले, तेव्हा ती ब्रह्मदेवांच्या शरण जाण्यास उद्यत झाली।
