येन देश: स सर्वस्तु तमोभूत इवाभवत्‌ । दृष्टवा सृष्ट तु नीहारं ततस्तं परमर्षिणा

Transliteration

yena deśaḥ sa sarvas tu tamobhūta ivābhavat | dṛṣṭvā sṛṣṭaṃ tu nīhāraṃ tatas taṃ paramarṣiṇā ||

Translation

वैशंपायन म्हणाले—त्या धुक्यामुळे तो सारा प्रदेश जणू अंधाराने व्यापल्यासारखा झाला. मग लोकांना कळले की हे धुके त्या परमर्षींनीच निर्माण केले आहे.
