Aṃśāvataraṇa-kathana (Catalog of Divine/Asuric Portions in Human Births) — Chapter 61

ततोऊक्षैर्वज्चयित्वा च सौबलेन युधिष्ठिरम्‌ । वन॑ प्रस्थापयामास सप्त वर्षाणि पजच च,तब उसने शकुनिकी सहायतासे कपटपूर्ण जुएके द्वारा युधिष्ठिरको ठग लिया और उन्हें बारह वर्षतक वनमें और तेरहवें वर्ष एक राष्ट्रमें अज्ञात-रूपसे वास करनेके लिये भेज दिया। इसके बाद चौदहवें वर्षमें पाण्डवोंने लौटकर अपना राज्य और धन माँगा

tato ’kṣair vañcayitvā ca saubalena yudhiṣṭhiram | vanaṁ prasthāpayāmāsa sapta varṣāṇi pañca ca ||

वैशंपायन म्हणाले— नंतर सुभलवंशी शकुनीच्या सहाय्याने पास्यांच्या खेळात कपट करून धर्मराज युधिष्ठिराला फसविण्यात आले. अशा रीतीने वंचित होऊन त्याला बारा वर्षे वनवासास आणि तेराव्या वर्षी एका राज्यात अज्ञातवासास पाठविले गेले. त्यानंतर चौदाव्या वर्षी पांडव परत आले व आपले राज्य आणि धन न्यायाने मागू लागले.
