अपश्यन्निर्मलजलं नानापक्षिसमाकुलम् | स तत् स्मृत्वा पितुर्वाक्यं भीमवेगो<न्तरिक्षग:,उन्होंने देखा, सरोवरका जल अत्यन्त निर्मल है और नाना प्रकारके पक्षी इसमें सब ओर चहचहा रहे हैं। तदनन्तर भयंकर वेगशाली अन्तरिक्षगामी गरुडने पिताके वचनका स्मरण करके एक पंजेसे हाथीको और दूसरेसे कछुएको पकड़ लिया। फिर वे पक्षिराज आकाशमें ऊँचे उड़ गये
apaśyannirmalajalaṃ nānāpaksisamākulam | sa tat smṛtvā piturvākyaṃ bhīmavego 'ntarikṣagaḥ |
त्याने पाहिले की सरोवराचे पाणी अत्यंत निर्मळ आहे आणि सर्वत्र नानाविध पक्षी भरलेले आहेत. मग पित्याचे वचन स्मरून, भयंकर वेगाने आकाशात संचार करणाऱ्या गरुडाने एका पंजाने हत्ती आणि दुसऱ्याने कासव पकडले.
