त॑ संकल्पं विदित्वाग्नेर्ज्ञात्वा पुत्रांक्ष बालकान् । सोभितुष्टाव विप्रर्षिब्राह्माणो जातवेदसम्
taṁ saṅkalpaṁ viditvāgner jñātvā putrāṁś ca bālakān | so 'bhituṣṭāva viprarṣir brāhmaṇo jātavedasam ||
वैशम्पायन म्हणाले—अग्नीचा तो संकल्प जाणून आणि त्या बालकांना आपलेच पुत्र म्हणून ओळखून, तो ब्राह्मण—विप्रांतील श्रेष्ठ ऋषी—प्रसन्न झाला व जातवेदस् (अग्नी)ची स्तुती करू लागला.
