Jarītā–Śārṅgā-saṃvāda: Ākhu-haraṇa and the Approach of Agni (आखुहरणं अग्न्यागमनश्च)
ततो भगवतो वहनेविंकार: समजायत । तेजसा विप्रहीणश्च ग्लानिश्वैन॑ समाविशत्,तब भगवान् अग्निदेवके उदरमें विकार हो गया। वे तेजसे हीन हो ग्लानिको प्राप्त होने लगे
tato bhagavato vahnervikāraḥ samajāyata | tejasā viprahīṇaś ca glāniś cainaṃ samāviśat ||
तेव्हा भगवान् वह्नि—अग्निदेवांच्या ठायी विकार उत्पन्न झाला। ते तेजहीन होऊन ग्लानीने ग्रासले जाऊ लागले।
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights that even great power (tejas) can diminish under strain; ethical action (dharma) includes recognizing decline and seeking proper restoration rather than forcing continued exertion beyond capacity.
The narrator states that Agni (Vahni) undergoes a bodily disturbance; his radiance wanes and exhaustion overtakes him, marking a turning point where the Fire-god is no longer able to function with his usual vigor.
