Educational Q&A

The passage foregrounds dharmic strength: true power is guided by purpose—protecting one’s companions and persevering through hardship. Draupadī’s encouragement functions as moral and emotional support that channels Bhīma’s might toward rightful action rather than mere display.

The text notes the Pāṇḍavas’ journey to Ārḍiṣeṇa’s hermitage and their residence there, emphasizing Draupadī’s ongoing exhortation of Bhīma. In the connected narrative summary, Bhīma has slain Jaṭāsura, the brothers move among hermitages, and the story leads toward Bhīma’s ascent near Kailāsa and a severe confrontation with yakṣas such as Maṇimān.
