Cause of Kalmāṣapāda’s Niyoga under a Curse
नृपतिं त्वभ्यनुज्ञाप्य वसिष्ठो<थापचक्रमे । सो<थ राजा गिरौ तस्मिन् विजहारामरो यथा,वसिष्ठजी भी राजासे विदा ले अपने स्थानको चले गये। तदनन्तर राजा संवरण उस पर्वतपर देवताकी भाँति विहार करने लगे
nṛpatiṃ tv abhyanujñāpya vasiṣṭho ’thāpacakrame | so ’tha rājā girau tasmin vijahārāmaro yathā ||
राजाची परवानगी घेऊन वसिष्ठ आपल्या आश्रमाकडे निघून गेले. त्यानंतर राजा संवरण त्या पर्वतावर देवासारखा विहार करू लागला.
वसिष्ठ उवाच
The verse highlights proper conduct between ruler and sage: the king grants leave respectfully, and the sage departs without attachment. Such orderly, dharmic interaction is followed by the king’s renewed stability and prosperity, symbolized by his god-like ease on the mountain.
Vasiṣṭha, after receiving the king’s permission, withdraws and leaves. King Saṃvaraṇa then remains on that mountain, living and enjoying there in a manner compared to the gods.
