vaiśampāyana uvāca | tasya tad vacanaṃ śrutvā bhīmasenotyamārṣaṇaḥ | niṣpiṣyainaṃ balād bhūmau paśum āraṃ mamārayat |
The verse highlights how anger can drive extreme action; even when violence is directed toward removing a dangerous aggressor, the text frames Bhīma’s act as propelled by indignation, inviting reflection on self-control and proportionality within dharma.
After hearing Arjuna’s words, Bhīma becomes enraged, overpowers the rākṣasa, throws him to the ground, and kills him by crushing—described in stark, animal-slaughter imagery to emphasize the ferocity of the act.
