तां प्रतिज्ञां प्रतिज्ञाय यां कर्तास्म्यचिरादिव । द्रुपदेनैवमुक्तो5हं मनन्‍्युनाभिपरिप्लुत:,चलते समय मैंने एक प्रतिज्ञा की थी, जिसे शीघ्र पूर्ण करूँगा। ट्रुपदके द्वारा जो इस प्रकार तिरस्कारपूर्ण वचन मेरे प्रति कहा गया है, उसके कारण मैं क्षोभसे अत्यन्त व्याकुल हो रहा हूँ

Transliteration

tāṃ pratijñāṃ pratijñāya yāṃ kartāsmy acirād iva | drupadenaivam ukto 'haṃ manyunābhipariplutaḥ ||

Translation

निघताना मी ती प्रतिज्ञा केली, जी मी लवकरच पूर्ण करीन. द्रुपदाने माझ्याशी जे तिरस्कारपूर्ण शब्द बोलले, त्यामुळे माझे मन रोषाने भरून आले आहे; अपमानाची टोचणी मला अस्वस्थ करते आणि प्रतिकाराचा माझा निर्धार अधिकच दृढ झाला आहे.
