Lord Vishnu (narrator voice addressing Garuda/Khagendra in the Garuda Purana dialogue frame)
Concept: Vishnu’s Varaha avatara restores the Earth and destroys Hiranyaksha for the welfare of the righteous—divine intervention to re-anchor dharma.
Vedantic Theme: Ishvara as protector (rakshaka) and restorer of rta/dharma; līlā that resolves adharma and stabilizes the world-order.
Application: In adversity, anchor faith in the protective aspect of the Divine; align actions with dharma to become ‘sajjana’ supported by that order.
Primary Rasa: vira
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: cosmic battlefield; submerged realm
Related Themes: Garuda Purana: avatara narratives and Vishnu-stuti passages (general thematic parallel)
This verse highlights Varāha as Viṣṇu’s act of cosmic restoration—rescuing the Earth, destroying adharma embodied by the Daitya, and protecting the virtuous.
Indirectly, it frames the Purāṇic ethic: dharma is safeguarded by the Divine, encouraging souls to align with righteousness (sajjanas) rather than demonic conduct that leads to downfall.
Cultivate sajjana-dharma—truthfulness, restraint, and protection of life and community—trusting that sustained righteousness supports stability in one’s world, as the Earth is “re-established” in the verse.
