Lord Vishnu (speaking to Garuda)

Concept: Transference/recurrence of a revealed form: what appeared in Dvapara as Vayu-form is shown again by Vayu in Kali.

Vedantic Theme: Continuity of divine function through time; manifestation adapts yet preserves recognizable signatures (lakshana).

Application: In spiritually difficult times, look for authentic continuity markers rather than expecting maximal display; value faithful reappearance of essential guidance.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

FAQs

This verse frames spiritual history as cyclical: divine revelation and the functions of deities like Vāyu can reappear in comparable forms across different yugas, helping seekers recognize continuity of dharma even in Kali.

Indirectly, it emphasizes that cosmic order operates through consistent divine agencies across ages; such continuity underlies the Purana’s broader teachings on dharma, karmic consequences, and the soul’s progression under universal law.

In Kali Yuga, look for the essence of dharma rather than only outward forms—cultivate purity of conduct, truthful speech, and disciplined practice, trusting that divine support operates through familiar principles even when times change.
