तत: पुरूरवा जज्ञे इलायां य उदाहृत: । तस्य रूपगुणौदार्यशीलद्रविणविक्रमान् ॥ १५ ॥ श्रुत्वोर्वशीन्द्रभवने गीयमानान् सुरर्षिणा । तदन्तिकमुपेयाय देवी स्मरशरार्दिता ॥ १६ ॥
tataḥ purūravā jajñe ilāyāṁ ya udāhṛtaḥ tasya rūpa-guṇaudārya- śīla-draviṇa-vikramān
त्यानंतर इळेच्या गर्भातून बुधापासून पुरूरवा नावाचा पुत्र जन्मला; त्याचा उल्लेख नवव्या स्कंधाच्या आरंभी आहे. इंद्रसभेत नारदांनी त्याचे रूप, गुण, औदार्य, शील, संपत्ती व पराक्रम गाताना उर्वशीने ऐकले; कामदेवाच्या बाणाने व्याकुळ होऊन ती त्याच्याजवळ आली.
