FAQs

This verse marks the completion of a teaching segment on Sarga—creation—showing that cosmology is presented as a disciplined guru–disciple transmission before moving to further details of the world-order.

The text frames creation as an answer to Maitreya’s formal inquiry; this verse is Maitreya’s acknowledgment that Parāśara has fully addressed what was asked, reinforcing the Purana’s authoritative, instructional mode.

Even when Vishnu is not named in the verse, the surrounding Vishnu Purana framework treats creation (Sarga) as grounded in the Supreme Reality—Vishnu—whose sovereignty underlies the cosmos and its order.
