Vena–Pṛthu Episode and the Milking of Earth
akṛṣṭapacyā pṛthivī siddhyanty annāni cintayā sarvakāmadughā gāvaḥ puṭake puṭake madhu
Sage Parāśara (teaching Maitreya)
Concept: In the Satya-yuga, dharma is so complete that nature spontaneously yields sustenance and prosperity without violence or labor.
Vedantic Theme: Dharma
Application: Cultivate sattva—truthfulness, restraint, and non-exploitative living—so one’s life harmonizes with the world rather than extracting from it.
Vishishtadvaita: The ordered, beneficent functioning of prakṛti reflects the Lord’s governance of the world as its inner ruler (niyantṛ), even when not explicitly named.
Vishnu Form: Para-Brahman
Bhakti Type: Shanta
It signifies an age where dharma is complete, so nature mirrors that harmony—food arises without labor, showing the world aligned with cosmic order.
He presents it as a yuga-marker: in the highest age, intention alone suffices, because the world’s processes are unobstructed by scarcity and conflict.
The verse reflects a Vishnu-ordered cosmos: when dharma prevails under the Supreme Lord’s sovereignty, creation becomes naturally supportive of righteous life and spiritual aims.
