Maitreya’s Questions and Parāśara’s Resolve to Teach
tataś ca bhagavān prāha vasiṣṭho me pitāmahaḥ pulastyena yad uktaṃ te sarvam etad bhaviṣyati
Sage Parāśara (continuing the transmission within the Parāśara–Maitreya dialogue, referencing Vasiṣṭha and Pulastya)
It establishes an authoritative lineage of transmission—truth is presented as received through revered rishis, grounding the narrative in sacred tradition.
By citing Vasiṣṭha’s affirmation that Pulastya’s words will unfailingly occur, Parāśara reinforces the teaching as dependable and rooted in realized sages.
Even without naming Vishnu directly, the verse supports the Purāṇic premise that cosmic history unfolds in ordained order—an order ultimately governed by the Supreme Reality that the Vishnu Purana identifies as Lord Vishnu.
