niraṇāyi madhudveṣṭrā sraṣṭuḥ sṛṣṭivilakṣaṇā | kuhūrāhubhayādeṣā kāṃtiścāṃdramasī kimu

ഇത് മധുദ്വേഷ്ടാവ് (വിഷ്ണു) സൃഷ്ടിച്ച, സ്രഷ്ടാവിന്റെ പതിവുസൃഷ്ടിയിൽ നിന്ന് വ്യത്യസ്തമായ അപൂർവ നിർമ്മിതിയോ? അല്ലെങ്കിൽ അമാവാസ്യയുടെയും രാഹുവിന്റെയും ഭയത്തിൽ നിന്നു ജനിച്ച ചന്ദ്രസമ കാന്തിയോ?
