Prologue to the Recitation of the Śaiva Purāṇa

तस्मादीशप्रसादार्थं यूयं गत्वा भुवं द्विजाः । दीर्घसत्रं समाकृध्वं यूयं वर्षसहस्रकम्

Transliteration

tasmādīśaprasādārthaṃ yūyaṃ gatvā bhuvaṃ dvijāḥ | dīrghasatraṃ samākṛdhvaṃ yūyaṃ varṣasahasrakam

Translation

അതുകൊണ്ട്, ഹേ ദ്വിജന്മാരേ, നിങ്ങൾ ഭൂമിയിലേക്ക് പോയി, ഈശ്വരപ്രസാദം ലഭിക്കാനായി ദീർഘസത്ര യജ്ഞം ആരംഭിച്ച് അത് ആയിരം വർഷം നടത്തുക.
